Methodology

The Grifols Academy of Plasmapheresis has two campus locations; Glendale, AZ and Indianapolis, IN. Each campus is a state-of-the-art facility adjacent to a fully functioning donor center.

The Academy offers a practical approach to learning in various disciplines including quality, medical, operations, leadership and professional development. Courses are facilitated by experienced instructors from Grifols companies, third-party experts, and guest lecturers from the industry or academia. Training program standards are designed to allow participants to achieve consistent, high levels of proficiency. Customized professional coursework, seminars, and intellectually challenging group discussions promote innovation and educational concepts.

Training programs are developed in several phases, including identification, analysis, design and development of topics regarding plasma science. All programs are continually reviewed by the Academy staff and instructors to remain current with the latest industry standards, enabling us to maintain the highest quality standards within the organization.

The Academy offers sequenced programs for leadership positions in quality, operations, training, and medical areas. Additional workshops are offered to address specific skill development. These in-person training sessions vary in length depending on the program content.

To assist employees in obtaining additional credit for general education and elective requirements for undergraduate programs, the Academy has entered into an articulation agreement with the University of Phoenix for approved educational programs allowing advancement of traditional college career paths. Additionally, the Grifols Academy has partnered with Southern New Hampshire University to offer Associate and Bachelor degrees to Grifols employees. The Grifols Academy also grants continuing education credit to Grifols employees attending Academy classes, as allowed through the accreditation status from ACCET. Eligible employees may also obtain nursing continuing education hours for applicable coursework through the Academy’s provider license with the State of California Board of Registered Nurses.

The campus also hosts meetings, seminars, presentations, and conferences by Grifols' companies and others in the industry.
